About Us

History

Bland Community Families, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that was Established in 1977 and charted in 1982 by African American residents of Bland , Florida.  It was organized solely for general charitable purposes.

​

Purpose

The general purpose of this organization is to support the upgrading of the Bland Community through the following:

1. To reunite families of Bland

2. To assist members in the search for and development of their family trees

3. To promote the development of Bland

4. To give benevolent assistance to members of the corporation

5. To make scholarships available to members of the corporation

Fundraisers and Community Involvement

  • Homemade Bake Sales

  • Bike/Walk-A-Thon

  • Stay At Home Tea

  • Gas Card Raffle Give Away

  • Adopt-A-Road Program of Alachua County

  • Improvement of two local cemeteries

  • Provided Christmas and necessities gifts for  homeless shelters

  • A.L. Mebane Parade

  • Assisted with preserving the history of Ogden Elementary School founded in  the early 1900s in Bland, Florida
